Prior to that he was a Senior Associate with BMR Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in the media business.

His clients included New World Library, Miller Freeman Books, Publishers Group West, National Book Network, Chronicle Books, and Sunset. Before that he was Vice President of Sales at Little Brown, which at that time was a Time, Inc. company.
